Holiday Club advice please!!

Hello all you wonderful people
Just had a query from a church about the length of time you are 'legally' allowed to run holiday clubs over the summer.

Can someone please enlighten me the laws/ rules etc on this.

If you go here: http://www.scriptureunion.org.uk/Clubs/Downloads/2579.id on the Scripture Union holiday club website, you'll find a lot of advice on running holiday clubs. Click on 'Legal requirements (child protection)' and there is some specific advice on legally running a club. Basically, there is a limit to how long the club involving under-8s can go on without informing OFSTED and it is quite low – nearly every holiday club is likely to exceed it! As part of planning and preparation, you should inform your local office, as it is the decision of each office about inspecting events like holiday clubs. They probably won't inspect you, but there's a small possiblity that they may and, anyway, it's a matter of best practice to inform them.
