Hi everybody,

i have been updating some training notes on current children's trends in the UK. some of the findings are enlightening and some a challenging to those involved in children's ministry.
i hope that you can take the time to follow the links. there is a lot of information and it covers a wide area of children's work

but i hope that its helpful and will stir some thoughts prayers and action

the two main website that contain the information are the children's workforce development council and childwise, both secular children's work organisations.
please do reply with thoughts comments and if you have any information on current trends with children. please let me especially know.

I am particularly interested to hear if anyone working with schools is involved with the community cohesion programmes that schools are now offseaded for

please have a look at the links
trying to serve you

Hi Jim

Thanks for the post and links - it is useful to build this group up as a reference tool for any wanting to track data and trends.

If you haven't checked out this report on children and commercialisation, then it is definitely worth a look. http://www.compassonline.org.uk/campaigns/campaign.asp?n=446

Also, for a great example of where a church has seized the opportunity to connect with and serve its community then check out www.springfieldproject.org.uk

I know this has more to do with youth but it concerns the 'tweenage' so might be of interest.
