Has Anyone Heard of Colin Buchanan?
This guy is a fantastic christian children's songwriter & entertainer from Australia. He sings, entertains & mucks about aussie style - and all with a focus on Jesus. His CD's have fantastic production values, his DVD's are crazy & completely re-watchable (my kids have worn one copy out!) and live he's even better. His simple, slightly mad but unique style had the whole crowd engaged today in a gig I went to in Banbury. I would highly reccomend him to anyone & he still has a few shows left in UK if you get the chance to go!
We first discovered Colin when were lent a vhs 3 years ago by a friend who'd been given it by another friend and my kids immediately fell for it. I eventually got hold of a dvd & some cd's from another aussie mate who bought them in a shop while on a trip home. The songs are fantastic (easily meeting the high standards mentioned in the previous discussion on this group) and my kids sing them all the time! The music is based on a country style, the lyrics are fresh, down to earth, God - centered biblical truths& SO engaging.
I think he's fairly well known in Oz from kids TV (and he wrote a song for Steve Irwin's funeral), but he doesn't seem to have much profile OR distribution in UK as yet - shame cos he's got such a lot to offer!
Anyway I thoroughly reccomend him & I'd love to hear from anyone else who has discovered the Colin magic yet!
