Do you have intergenerational worship or events, or cell groups for families, or support groups for parents and babies/toddlers or parents-to-be? How are parents and families cared for and supported in your church? Please share your ideas, success stories and struggles.

Unfortunately the emergingparents blog has been silent for some months. Mind you, it's still worth checking out the archives for some really good ideas.

Is there a UK equivalent?

This is a really thought-provoking blog on the place of children and faith: http://emergingkids.blogspot.com/

The author has read and commented on several books so it's worth looking through her archives.

I clearly have not been paying attention or I would have joined this group earlier! Glad to know there's a group of like minded people I can share with.

I'm part of a currently small interdenominational group who are all keen to see churches thinking through the whole issue of intergenerational church what it means? how can we work to achieve this ?

We have held one small conference in Derbyshire which was well received.

Interested in this are? experience? ideas to share? then why not join us.

Check out www.scriptureunion.org.uk/Parents/SurvivalSkillsforChristianParents
for an excellent free resource to use with parents over a number of sessions (ideally mixed with food!)

It is interactive, discussion-based, to be run weekly, monthly or once a term! It is easy to use and flexible enough to suit any group, including being used with parents in a school setting who want to explore the values they pass onto their children.

If you are looking to encourge parents in their important role in nurturing faith then, as well as the excellent SU course mentioned above, I have also developed one - Sharing Faith with our Children. It is research based, a bit more 'in depth' and aims to encourages and equips parents to nuruture their children in the faith. I am happy to provide more details if anyone is interested.
