Hi All,
I run a mid week outreach group for years 2,3,4. We have a varied programme including trips, craft activities, games etc. our teaching includes drama, puppets, action songs, prayer activities and stories.
I like to exchange ideas and reuse resources which other people recommend so I thought it would be a useful topic for discussion “What are your top resources and why?”, these can be books, web sites, training days basically what you find useful, here are a few from me to start the ball rolling
100 Children's club activities by Jan Dyer. Excellent to dip into for ideas easy to read and the introduction parallels our group and many of the core fundamentals behind it.
Games by Mary Hohenstein. A good selection of games, activities and ideas. Based in America so some of the items need re-working for the UK but an excellent well organised selection.
Beach balls I can't get enough beach balls into the club. I find them much more small child friendly than sponge balls as they are slower in the air.
The New Wine training days which I've attended have been good, they also tend to be quite cheap so its an ideal opportunity for bringing the team along.
Thanks,
Andy.
