Profile Information

Hometown:
Dawlish, Devon - coming from Devon means that I can do convincing pirate impressions (ahhaarrr - see, told you) which sometimes helps with kids ministry
What church do you belong to
Non-denominational.
Church: Mars Hill Church, Teignmouth (I know it's a strange name but it has great significance to the ministry ) - website: www.mars-hill.co.uk
What type of work with children are you involved in
I write and record songs and lead kids in worship. This involves me bouncing up and down like a tigger, clutching a guitar, panting out lively songs whilst kids stare back at me blankly. Some of the songs are like this (turn up your speakers) - the first 6 are from my concept CD "All Aboard the Heaven Express"........

MIND THE GAP
Have you had any formal training for your role
If I did then I must have slept through class.

My role is rather self-taught. I write and record kids praise songs and use them in my local church. Many of my songs are released on concept CD "All Aboard the Heaven Express" available on www.kidspraisesongs.co.uk . To do this I taught myself guitar, computer recording and music mixing, graphics software (for the CD cover) and website design. So I'm kinda self-taught, learning through (lots of) mistakes and I have to be a bit of a geek at times.

So great and encouraging to hear from you and your ministry as well and isn't it amazing how Jesus bought us with his blood from many languages, tribes and nations and how wonderful it is that he would die for us individually the best topic u would teach.
God has kept us well and we everyday see His faithfulness in our lives and ministry as well and we rejoice and glorify His name
Be blessed richly.

Hi Chris,

Good to hear from you. Retford is between Nottingham and Sheffield. 'Unstoppable Kids' is on a bit of a tour! It's next in Glasgow in January, Torquay 5th February, London, Ilkeston and Cardiff in March, Retford in April and Tunbridge Wells in May! It's all good fun though! Liz

Hi Chris, Really enjoy your songs with the children. Although I am a granny, my very soft spot is children - so innocent, vulnerable, and very precious to God. Let me know if there is any way I can support you in prayer - any special requests. Don't ever grow tired of what you are doing. Heaven is full of Children - wish we could all be like them. Be blessed - always. Jenn

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your message. Yeah I'm on the mainland. Is there much activity on this website? There doesn't seem to be too much going on since I joined.

Hi,
yes it can be very hectic. I always think the school mornings when they sit for an hour in front of cornflakes without eating the best!!
Technically, I'm not a muscian just a singer. I had a great lot of guys in the worship band with me though. David Marfleet from M.A.F and Jonathon Trumper who left to be a vicar. It was when I was doing Holiday clubs and weekly kids clubs that I wrote a few songs but although I had the tunes I did'nt get them written into note form. just recorded them onto tape at home. I'm sure that sounds a bit odd!
Dawlish sounds nice. Have'nt decided where to move to yet. I tried creation fest a few years ago but the boys were very small and most of it started after I had to take them home. I went to Soul surviour years ago.
Just got the smallest christened at my in laws in rugby. lovely day. really friendly vicar.
God Bless,
Tanya

Hi Catherine,
Did you manage to download it in the end? It's Right click then "Save As" - I need to make it clearer on the website. Please let me know if you have any further problems.

What schools work do you do? Does it keep you busy?

Have a great day.

Blessings
Chris

I am not football fan either but lots of boys are so it should work well with them.
I have had a bit of trouble downloading it.
I have been doing general schools work and a small church group - that's where Jesus fan would be useful.
Thanks for your pryaers.

Hi
Yes I thought that it would be good to connect with SW folk. I have only been in the area for about 9 months. I came to do a job involving schools work and church work but everything went a bit pear shaped. I am still doing some work but am now looking for a new job and am hoping not to have to move again. I am sure that God brought us here so I am looking to him to work things out.
I enjoyed your 'I'm a Jesus fan.' I am always on the look out for some children's songs with some zing - so keep up the good work. I am not the world's best singer so I find it difficult to teach new ones.
Bless you
Catherine
