A definite favourite of the children at Kidz Klub. Thanks to Hillsongs for the song and our friend Adam Syrop (adamsyrop.co.uk) for the awesome video and editing.

How many churches have no children?

I'm giving a presentation TONIGHT on children's ministry. I wanted to give them the shocking statistic I heard recently about how many churches have NO CHILDREN what-so-ever ... problem is I can't remember what the figure is or where it came from!

Of course I could do what most people do and make up the statistic on the spot but my integrity says I should at least make an effort to be accurate.

Anyone know what it is?

Hi Peter, I am based in the Liverpool - the office is in Horley near Gatwick - I work out of the sub-office. I have just been on the site at www.metroministries.org so I dont know why oyu couldn't access it - I was having problems accessing it the other day but I have just got in now. I have just returned this morning from working out in New York for a couple of weeks. Keep up the good work with the KK in Bradford. Janine

Hey everyone, have you read this?

Should be essential reading for you all - and for every policy maker in the land. Hard empirical evidence from a secular organisation which shows how pretty much every mission the church is engaged in is wrong! Similar message to George Barna's "Transforming Children" book, but from a secular source.

Wow, imagine if people actually got the message of this report. It could even have the potential to stop churches pouring even more wasted resources into Youthwork (...well, maybe not!).

It's a good site isn't it?

Hi Peter, Yes I do. Actually I just sold the last one today! But I am waiting on a shipment from New York. You can either download the lessons for £1.25 each from our web-site - or buy the whole years curriculum called "Transformation Station" from either the website, the UK office or from Amazon. Let me know if you want me to order one for you - you can e-mail me on jstellatos@metroministries.org or through "Children matter". I don't know if you know but we actually have two sidewalk sunday school trucks operating in the UK - one in Sheffield - the other currently in use in Oswaldtwistle Lancashire until September when it will go to Perth to launch Metro Scotland. We launch Sidewalk in Oswaldtwistle tomorrow night for the first time. Very exciting! Where do you do kids ministry and how is it going? It's going really well in the UK - In October I go down to Wales to train a church in Caernarfon to so Sidewalk Sunday School. Pastor Bill will be over in October speaking in Newcastle - South Yorkshire and West Midlands. God bless you in all you are doing!

Hi Janine. Am interested in getting the "Transformation Station" curriculum. Have downloaded a couple of sessions from Metro shop to view & try, but buying the whole years worth will work out cheaper and it says it also includes some extra items (DVD). How much would it be from yourselves?

Fantastic to here about the Sidewalk sunday schools starting ... they said it could never happen in the UK! We've gone a slightly different route. As well as doing the usual Saturday morning event, we are running a number of after-school "Sunday Schools" ... going very well too and loads and loads of opportunities are opening up. Just the people and the dosh that are hard to come by :o(

We're been part of the KK network, but sadly it seems be struggling at the moment. Is there any way of "affiliating" to metro ministries or plugging into what you are up to? Have been so blessed by Metro's ministry over the 10 years I've been doing my children's ministry that I'd love to able to give something back or partner in some way.

Hi Peter, The full years curriculum would be £65. Let me know if you want me to get one for you. Great to hear of the kids work you are doing - yep as Pastor Bill always says it takes bodies and dollars and sometimes you have the people but not the dosh and sometimes you have the dosh and not the people - we need both! We are kicking off in Lancashire today with a sidewalk sunday school programme at 6.30pm - it iwll be our first one - lots of other churches coming to view and see how it goes. It's very exciting. There is a church in Caernarfon where I am going in October to train them in doing SSS also and they are also interested in getting a truck. The one we are using in Oswaldtwistle will go back to Scotland first week in September but we at www.hopemetro.org will be looking to get our own. Hope-Metro is linked with Metro Ministries. We also have Hope-Metro in Scotland and there is about to be another one launced in a different area in Lancashire - more details soon. It would be great to partner. E-mail me at jstellatos@metroministries.org and I will let you have my full contact details and we can talk more on how to partner. We are also linked to www.sidewalk.org.uk where Barry Johnston who also has a SSS truck - runs two sites a week. Pastor Bill is over in Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham and Burnley areas in October - be great to hook up then also - e-mail me on my personal work e-mail and we can talk practicalities of partnering and networking together. Metro is going into India next year in February - the doors are opening faster than we can go through them. Metro Philippines now has their own web-site - I will get the address for you - so you can take a look. Metro Africa is going well - I hope to go out there next year. If you want we can meet up - Pastor Brian form Hope Metro, you and myself and discuss ways of partnering together. Our only goal, aim and motive is for the Kingdom. We have much work to do and time is short to get these kids and families through the doors of the Kingdom.
