Dave, Thanks for setting up this site and for giving us the opportunity to network with other chldrens workers. As a newie I hope to learn lots!
Have you been involved with auditing childrens work? If so, is it just a case of designing your own tool or are there guidelines out there? I have offered to help audit the childen work at our church's away day on 25h Nov.and am wanting to involve the children understandably! but do I use symbols like happy and sad faces for the younger children to communicate their opinons and simple yes/no answers for the older child. Any advice greatly received!I have asked Andi but am not sure how to ask everyone without just leaving comments on their comment wall. I am not a computer whiz!!

Dear Dave,

Praise God that I have found your website. I am blessed to read materials for children's ministry as well as to learn from others about their experiences. I am also happy to share our experiences.
May God richly bless you and your family.

Blessings,

Febie

Role Models for Girls - What the Guides Found

'A third of all girls across the younger age groups (7-16 years) chose Cheryl Cole as the best role model for girls of their age, making her by far the most popular choice. Among 7- to 11-year-olds, no other candidate was named by more than one in ten girls overall. However, their second choice, with 8 per cent of the vote, was the Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington, and JK Rowling and Katie Price/Jordan also scored relatively highly with 7 per cent each. Katie Price/Jordan was a much more popula… Continue

Dads want more time with Kids

Dads are working long hours, struggling to balance work and family life and four in ten say they don't spend enough time with their children, according to a report published today from the Equality and Human Rights Commission which you can download here. Forty five per cent of fathers don't take the two weeks paternity leave that they're entitled to, most because they can't afford to - it's paid at a statutory rate of £123.06 a week. Christmas Unwrapped - A Resource for Year Six

Over the last 15 years I have been involved with Slough Baptist Church based on an initiative for local primary schools that has been very well received. My heart is to see it develop wider and I wanted to let you know about it for your information and action if you think appropriate.

The idea is that a local primary school visits a local Church for a morning or afternoon to focus on Christmas. The aim: To provide a warm welcome to the children and staff who attend and to communicate the story… Continue
