Hi Lorraine - Thanks for adding me as your friend. I'm wondering whether you could use Bible Alive in your work. See www.bible alive.info. Bible Alive was born and brought up in East Kilbride and moved to Pitlochry a year ago. We still train BA Activators in Motherwell.
Blessings,

Excellent! Have you found anything in your studies that has significantly changed your thinking/practice regarding children or children's ministry?

Have you had any formal training for your role
I studied at International Christian College - 3 years full time and 4 years part-time. I did a years specialist training in youth ministry then a BA(Hons) in Theology, majoring in Practical Theology, with a specialism in Children's Ministry.
Hometown:
East Kilbride, Glasgow
What church denomination do you belong to
Grew up in the Brethren, then Independent Evangelical, involved in Pentecostal Para-Church Movement, worked for the Church of Scotland, attended a Baptist Charismatic Church, now work for an Evangelical Episcopal Church - so more simply, The Body of Christ.
What type of work with children are you involved in
Children's Pastor
Are you a volunteer or an employee
Part time church worker
Are you part of a local network of childrens workers, if so give details
I'm part of the core team that heads up the new Children's Ministry Network (Scotland), a new forum to help and support children's workers, leaders and pastors in their ministry to and with children. There is also a local Youth Workers forum in our area which overlaps children's and youth work - predominantly schools work.
Which of the following interest groups might you be interested in
Churched Child, Unchurched Child, Special Needs Child, Christians in Schools, Children and Culture, Parenting and Family
Do you train others - please give details
Training of volunteer leaders and children's workers. I was an HRD professional before going in to church ministry so it's an area of my work that I really enjoy. Co-wrote the Church of Scotland's Child Friendly Church initiative, a 6-12 month consultation and reflection exercise and pack to help churches think through 5 key areas of work with and for children. So often lead seminars and training days to help churches become more 'Child Friendly'!
