The National Federation of Atheist, Humanist and Secular Student Societies (AHS) is planning an offensive against Christianity in schools this summer. A Christian teacher has been suspended from his job after complaining that a staff training session was used to promote homosexuality. ITV has received dozens of complaints after Coronation Street character Ken Barlow criticised Christianity and claimed that his grandson Simon’s school was indoctrinating him. The local council in Leytonstone, east London, is taking action against parents who took their children out of school during a week promoting homosexuality. Dave Roberts Ofsted to identify best practice in faith schools

Children's Secretary Ed Balls yesterday (10 March) ordered the schools watchdog to explore how schools approach the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils. Dave Roberts Lib Dems vote in favour of faith schools

The Liberal Democrats have voted at their spring conference to allow state-funded faith schools to continue their faith-based selection of pupils should they come to power. The conference in Harrogate voted against proposals to ban the building of more state funded faith-based schools. Dave Roberts World's largest association of Christian schools elects new head

The world's largest association of evangelical Christian schools named a new president this week. The Roman Catholic Church has spoken out against a proposed new code of conduct for school teachers, saying that it could force teachers who refuse to promote Islam and gay rights out of the profession. Dave Roberts Poet Laureate says children need Bible stories to understand literature
