The scoping studies, published by the Centre for Excellence and Outcomes in Children and Young People's Services (C4EO), aim to bring together existing research and establish the key areas future research will focus on.
The studies are the first step towards C4EO's planned knowledge bank, set to launch in January next year, which will give examples of local practice which has been shown to improve outcomes for children, young people and families.
C4EO plans to launch further studies on disability, vulnerable children, parents, carers and families, youth and schools and communities.
Christine Davies, director of C4EO, said: "The three scoping studies have considered over 550 publications, demonstrating the rigorous methodology we are following to develop a ‘what works' knowledge bank which will give professionals working in early years the very best reliable information."
