i've heard a bit about metro ministries from a friend from church, she's been reading books about it recently (by bill johnson i think). her husband went out to new york and did some work with them a while back i think as well.

Hi Fay,
Oh yeah its the philadelphia branch he goes too. Didnt realise there were two. The founder of Metro Mininstries is Bill Wilson. If you get chance to read the book - it's a "can't put downer".!
Pastor Bill will be speaking at St Thomas's PH in October. I'll keep you posted!

Hi Janine. Read your post letting people know about the excellent work of Metro. FYI, the website you posted isn't correct. Should it be .com or are you launching a separate .org UK site? Either way, the .org site doesn't exist.

Are you based in Liverpool then or down @ Gatwick?

Please read the attached prayer request - two of our Sunday school kids in the Philippines have been hacked to death by Muslim rebels.

August 19, 2008
From: Metro Philippines.
Re: Urgent news from the Philippines

Please pray for protection for our children.
There has been bloodshed in the nation the last two days.
Two or more of our Sunday School children in the volatile southern island of Mindanao have been hacked to death by Muslim rebels.
At 2am 80 rebels came into the town of Lapayan, where we hold one of our Sunday school sites, and they started killing people. Many of our children witnessed the atrocities. Much blood has been shed, and chopped bodies are found in the streets and in homes. The rebels took 17 hostages as human shields, and then they massacred 13 of them.
Over 600 families have fled this area and are now in Iligan City, one of our expansion cities for the SSS. Most of the families escaped by way of the sea in hastily constructing boats, some with sheets for sails. The roads were too dangerous for travel, as the rebels were ambushing vehicles, taking over police stops, and impersonating army officials.
Some of the fleeing families are at our partner church of New Life. Our Area Representative Dan says the city is in chaos and on red alert. Helicopters have been scouring the countryside trying to hunt down the MILF rebels. Dan’s wife’s family were held hostage also, but they were later released.
Manila was also on high alert today, and the army has been called in to put down the rebels.
This only makes us at Metro Philippines and our partner church teams urgently aware of the need to bring the gospel and the love of Jesus Christ to these children, before it is too late. It only causes us to dig down deeper, stay longer and depend more strongly on the Lord to work through us across this entire nation.
As bad as this is, and I don’t know how bad it is going to get, a lot of our people are in the south working with the children in these very volatile areas. But even though some have faced death even in the last couple of days, we all know that this is the land the Lord has promised us, and no matter what, we will move forward in taking it back, for the Glory of God.

PLEASE PRAY.

Janine

Hello Janine Stellatos in Christ,

Thanks for your reply. We are praying for your programmes in different parts of the world. It is so good to hear from your visit in North India in February 2008. I will come and see you there in February after getting the details from you. Can you tell me the place of your visit in North India? It will take 3 days to me to reach the city New Delhi by train. Ok!

If God leads you and time permits, please try to visit our projects in South India and it will be great encouragement to us.

You can get the visa easily to come to India. But you should not mention in your Visa that you are coming for preaching in India. If you mentioned it, they wont issue Visa.

So, you can visit the website of our Indian Embassy to know the formalities to get the get the Visa and I am giving the link to you and it is: http://www.indianembassy.org/newsite/visa.asp

If you need any other assistance, please feel free to write to me and I will do the best for you.

Praying for all. Please keep in touch with me and enroll my name in Indian Metro ministries office.

God Bless!
Thank you
With love

That would be great, let's work on it - thanks!
I see Bill is not heading south of Solihull? Is there time and value in us looking at another date and a venue further south?

By the way, we've agreed with Mark to take 'Done and Dusted' on the road in the autumn when his book comes out, so watch this space (or let me know if you are keen to host one...)
