TRAINING IN SCHOOLS WORK
Schools work is an increasingly significant area of youth and children’s ministry. This residential course is designed for those new to schools work as well as those with some experience or who are working in schools as a part of a wider role as church-based youth or children’s workers – both paid and unpaid. It is suitable for people working in primary or secondary schools. As well as thinking about the theological underpinning of schools work there will be practical sessions and the opportunity to gain new ideas and insights.

Dates
The course is residential and will start at midday on Monday 12 October and end with lunch on Friday 16 October 2009.

• The mission context of schools work
• The educational context – legislation and its implications
• Developing partnerships between churches and schools
• Supporting Christians in the school context
• The role of Christian groups
• Enabling and equipping volunteers
• Assemblies, lessons, and other activities
• Developing a strategy
• and much more……

COST
Each course costs £250.00 total for the week, including all meals, accommodation, tuition and course materials. A deposit of £50.00 is payable (to Scripture Union) on booking, and the balance is due four weeks before the start of the course.

The small print: the deposit is non-returnable in the event of cancellation. If you have to cancel your booking within four weeks of the course you will be liable for the full fees.
