Good Effort on the site here! such a good idea!

was just thinking, is there anyway of getting a map on the site to see how we are all spread around the country?

Dear Dave,

Praise God that I have found your website. I am blessed to read materials for children's ministry as well as to learn from others about their experiences. I am also happy to share our experiences.
May God richly bless you and your family.

Blessings,

Febie

Dave, Thanks for setting up this site and for giving us the opportunity to network with other chldrens workers. As a newie I hope to learn lots!
Have you been involved with auditing childrens work? If so, is it just a case of designing your own tool or are there guidelines out there? I have offered to help audit the childen work at our church's away day on 25h Nov.and am wanting to involve the children understandably! but do I use symbols like happy and sad faces for the younger children to communicate their opinons and simple yes/no answers for the older child. Any advice greatly received!I have asked Andi but am not sure how to ask everyone without just leaving comments on their comment wall. I am not a computer whiz!!

Brand mania deplored by teachers

A survey by the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL) showed children's desire to fit in and be like everyone else in their school seemed to play a huge role in the items they wanted to own. Teachers ranked brands, friends and logos as the top three influences on children - respectively rated by 93 per cent, 91 per cent, and 77 per cent of teachers. Almost half of teachers (46 per cent) said young people who could not afford the fashion items or branded goods owned by their peers had been… Continue

Children of poor - A failed generation?

Fifty-five per cent of secondary schools in the most deprived parts of England do not achieve thirty per cent of children getting five good GCSEs including English and maths - the government's official benchmark for a failing school. In the 10 per cent richest areas only three per cent of secondary schools are officially "failing". The statistics come from A Failed Generation - Educational Inequality under Labour, which was published today (Friday) by the Conservative Party. The document aims… Continue
